The Oris Aquis Kelp Forest Limited Edition 01 733 7787 4187-Set takes the proven 41.5mm Aquis Date and gives it a dial you won’t find on any other dive watch. Oris says the green dial is 3D-printed, with a raised texture that mimics kelp swaying in the current, so the face changes as the light moves across it.

That dial sits under a sapphire crystal domed on both sides, with anti-reflective coating on the inside, and is framed by a ceramic minutes-scale bezel insert on a multi-piece stainless steel case. The screw-down caseback is finshed with special engravings and printing for the edition. It runs on a 22mm multi-piece stainless steel bracelet with a security folding clasp and extension, so it fits comfortably over a wetsuit and adjusts easily on dry land.

Inside is the Oris Calibre 733-1, a Swiss automatic movement beating at 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). It has a 41-hour power reserve, an instantaneous date change, a date corrector and stop-seconds (hacking) for precise time-setting. With 300m (30 bar) of water resistance, this is a genuine Swiss automatic dive watch rather than a desk diver dressed up as one.

Production is capped at 1,000 pieces worldwide. Starbuy have received 167/1000 as their allocation. The edition was inspired by Oris ambassador and underwater photographer Francis Pérez, who has documented the decline of the world’s kelp forests over three decades of diving.   If no one is available to sign, Australia Post will leave a card with details on how to collect your parcel from the closest authorised Australia Post Office. You’ll need to present a photo ID at the post office to pick it up. If you’ve authorised a Safe Drop with Australia Post previously, they’ll follow your existing instructions.
