The Citizen Promaster Dive BN0268-01E is the loud one, and unapologetic about it. A black dial sits beneath a bold orange unidirectional dive bezel, matched to an orange strap, in a colour scheme that traces straight back to the professional dive watches of the 1970s where orange meant one thing: find me.
The 40.5mm silver-tone stainless steel case keeps it grounded, applied indices and luminous hands hold legibility against the dark dial, and a date sits at three o'clock. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal fronts it, a screw-down crown seals it, and at 11.7mm thick and 86 grams it wears light — this is a high-visibility men's dive watch that hasn't been inflated to 44mm to make its point.
Inside is Citizen's new Eco-Drive Calibre E118, the Japanese light-powered movement introduced with this generation. It runs on sunlight or ordinary indoor light and never takes a battery, holding roughly a year of charge when full, rated to ±15 seconds per month, with Type 1 magnetic resistance.
The 200m water resistance is ISO-certified for scuba diving, so the bezel and depth rating are genuine equipment. The strap is BENEBiOL biomass urethane — a plant-derived material developed by Mitsubishi Chemical — in a 20mm width sized for wrists from 140 to 210mm. If you want a solar-powered dive watch that reads instantly on the wrist, in a boat, or at the bottom of a bag, this is the one in the range that does it.
What we love about this watch: Orange is the colour most brands are too cautious to commit to properly, and the BN0268-01E commits — bezel and strap both, against a black dial that stops it becoming a novelty. It's the most fun watch in the new Promaster range and also the most functional argument for high-visibility dive colouring.
