The Citizen Promaster Dive BN0267-04L is the blue one — and the most overtly "watch" of the four new Promaster divers. A blue sunray dial sits inside a 40.6mm silver-tone stainless steel case, catching light across its surface and deepening toward the edges, matched to a blue IP unidirectional dive bezel and a navy strap so the whole piece reads as one tone.
Applied indices and luminous hands hold legibility in low light and underwater, a date sits at three o'clock, and anti-reflective sapphire crystal keeps glare off the dial in bright sun. A screw-down crown seals the case, and at 11.7mm thick and 86 grams this stays one of the slimmer 200m men's dive watches you can buy — a real consideration if you actually intend to wear it under a shirt.
Driving it is Citizen's new Eco-Drive Calibre E118, a Japanese light-powered movement that charges from sunlight or ordinary room light and never needs a battery. This generation is the meaningful one: roughly a year of running time from a full charge, accuracy rated to ±15 seconds per month, and Type 1 magnetic resistance to shrug off the fields thrown by phones, laptops and speakers.
The 200m water resistance is ISO-certified for scuba diving, so the bezel and depth rating are working equipment rather than decoration. Blue is the holiday-and-water colourway of this range — the one that looks most obviously at home against the sea and still passes at the office on Monday — and it makes a strong case as a first proper men's blue dive watch.
What we love about this watch: Blue divers are a crowded field, and most of them get the colour half-right. The BN0267-04L holds one continuous blue across dial, bezel and strap, which is a harder thing to execute than it sounds and reads far more expensive than the price suggests. That it does it with a movement you never have to service the power source on is the part that makes it easy to recommend.
