The Citizen Promaster Sky Navihawk CA4664-60W is the quiet one in the 40mm Navihawk line-up — a men's Eco-Drive pilot chronograph that trades the range's usual high-visibility colourways for a muted khaki green dial and a silver-tone steel case. The case itself does the talking: sharply faceted flanks under a satin finish that shifts between matte and bright as the light moves, closer in feel to a modern sports watch than a traditional aviation piece. Around it sits the slide-rule bezel that has defined the Navihawk since the beginning, and above it a sapphire crystal. A triple-link stainless steel bracelet with a push-button clasp holds it in place, and the whole thing is rated to 200 metres.
Inside is Citizen's Eco-Drive calibre B620, which draws its power from light rather than a battery — indoor light counts, so for most owners the watch simply never stops. A full charge carries roughly nine months of running time and a low-charge indicator flags well ahead of any problem. The complications are the ones a pilot's watch is actually judged on: a 1/5-second chronograph reading up to 60 minutes across the sub-dials, a date, and a 12/24-hour display for tracking a second time zone. At 40mm this is a men's aviation chronograph for someone who wants the tool-watch capability without the tool-watch footprint — legible enough for the cockpit, restrained enough for an office, and green enough to look like a considered choice rather than a default one.
What we love about this watch: Khaki green is the hardest dial colour to get right, and Citizen has landed it. The CA4664-60W reads olive under artificial light and something closer to field-green in daylight, which gives a $999 chronograph a depth that most watches at twice the price don't have. Pair that with sapphire, 200m, a slide rule and a movement that never needs a battery, and it's the most complete watch in Citizen's 40mm Promaster range.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the green CA4664-60W different from the other 40mm Navihawks?
The mechanical package is identical across the 40mm Navihawk references — same 40mm steel case, same B620 Eco-Drive calibre, same sapphire crystal, same 200m water resistance and the same slide-rule bezel. What changes is the dial and bezel treatment: the CA4664-60W runs a khaki green dial with a darker-toned bezel, where its siblings use silver or the blue-and-yellow aviation palette. Choose on colour and on price — this is currently the most affordable way into the 40mm Navihawk.
Is a 40mm pilot's watch big or small on the wrist?
For a Navihawk, small — and that's the point. Citizen's earlier Navihawk and Skyhawk references run 43mm to 48mm, which put a lot of buyers off entirely. At 40mm on a 20mm-lug bracelet, this sits comfortably on wrists from about 16cm upward and will clear a shirt cuff, which no previous Navihawk reliably did. If you've tried the bigger ones and found them overwhelming, this is the model that solves it.
What does a 1/5-second chronograph actually mean?
It means the stopwatch resolves time to one-fifth of a second — five increments per second rather than the single tick a basic chronograph gives you. In use, the central seconds hand sweeps in fine steps and you can read an elapsed time far more precisely, up to a maximum of 60 minutes before the counter resets. For timing anything from a lap to a parking meter it's more than enough resolution, and it's a meaningful step up from the one-second chronographs common at this price.
