The Citizen Tsuno Chrono AN3714-50H brings back one of Japanese watchmaking's most recognisable silhouettes: the "bullhead" chronograph, with its crown and pushers set across the top of the case like a pair of horns.
This version, from Citizen's Record Label collection, has a smoky grey metal dial that graduates in tone from the outer edge inward. It's the most restrained of the four new gradient colourways. Three recessed sub-dials and a date window between 4 and 5 o'clock sit under a domed crystal, framed by a black-plated bezel. The 38mm stainless steel case is 11.7mm thick and weighs 98g on its bracelet. It's a compact, period-correct size for a men's retro chronograph. The single-row steel bracelet has folded links and a fully adjustable sliding clasp.
Inside is Citizen's in-house Caliber 0510 quartz movement. It's accurate to ±20 seconds a month, and its battery is rated for about two years. The chronograph times in one-second increments up to 12 hours. The design traces directly to Citizen's 1973 Chronograph Challenge Timer, the watch that earned the "Tsuno" (Japanese for "horn") nickname.
Lumed hands and markers keep it legible after dark for a short period, and 50m water resistance covers everyday wear. If you want a vintage-inspired chronograph without the servicing worries of a 50-year-old original, this is the easy way in. It suits the office as well as the weekend.
What we love about this watch: The grey dial is the grown-up choice in the gradient line-up. You notice the 1970s character, but the dial doesn't shout. The Tsuno AN3714-50H keeps everything that makes the bullhead special: the oddball pusher layout, the compact case, and a proper 12-hour chronograph. It's also one of the most approachable ways to own a genuine piece of Citizen design history.
