Seiko Prospex Samurai 43.8mm SRPF03K
4 interest free payments of $198.75
The Seiko Prospex Samurai SRPF03K is a bold and modern diver’s watch that perfectly represents Seiko’s long-standing heritage of precision craftsmanship and innovative design. Beloved by collectors, the “Samurai” nickname comes from its sharply angular case, shaped as though it were carved by a Japanese samurai sword—instantly recognisable and distinctly Seiko.
This model features a striking black 3D press-pattern dial paired with a durable aluminium bezel for scratch resistance and a premium look. Built for adventure, the SRPF03K houses the reliable 4R35 automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve and offers the professional-grade durability expected from the Prospex line, including 200 m water resistance, a screw‑down crown, unidirectional rotating bezel, and LumiBrite across the hands and markers for unbeatable visibility.
Since creating Japan’s first-ever diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko has continually set industry standards, and this Samurai continues that legacy with rugged stainless‑steel construction, Hardlex crystal, and a secure-lock bracelet with diver’s extension—ensuring comfort and performance whether you're underwater or on land.
What we love about the Seiko Prospex Classic Samurai SRPF03K: The combination of its aggressive Samurai case lines, textured black dial, and ceramic bezel gives this watch a powerful wrist presence that feels uniquely Seiko. It’s a perfect blend of heritage dive-watch design, everyday durability, and modern craftsmanship—making it an ideal choice for enthusiasts who appreciate a tough, stylish, and authentically Japanese timepiece.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Seiko Samurai a good dive watch? Why is it called the Samurai?
The nickname comes from the community, not Seiko — collectors christened it for the sword-shaped hands and the sharp, angular case, all flat planes and hard edges where most dive watches are round and soft. It's earned its reputation: a genuine 200-metre diver's rating built to ISO dive standards, a screw-down crown, a solid steel bracelet and Seiko's in-house automatic movement, at a price where most brands are selling you fashion watches. At 43.8mm it has real wrist presence, but the angular case keeps the lug-to-lug at 48.4mm, so it wears more manageably than the diameter suggests. If you want one tough automatic diver that looks like nothing else at the price, the Samurai has been the answer for years — the black dial version is the most versatile of the lot.
What's the difference between the Samurai and the King Samurai?
Same case, same movement family, same 200m dive rating — the King Samurai adds two upgrades: a sapphire crystal instead of the Samurai's Hardlex mineral glass, and a ceramic bezel insert instead of aluminium, both more scratch-resistant. That's it, and it's why the King costs more. Whether it's worth the difference depends on how you'll treat the watch. Hardlex is Seiko's own hardened mineral crystal and it's tougher than standard mineral glass — plenty of divers have worn Hardlex Seikos hard for decades — but sapphire is harder to scratch, full stop. If the watch is going on and off desks and door frames daily, the King's upgrades earn their keep; if you want the classic Samurai at the sharpest price, the standard model like this one gives you the identical wearing experience and the identical movement performance.
Is the SRPF03K automatic? What movement does it use?
Yes — it runs Seiko's Calibre 4R35, a 23-jewel automatic that winds itself from the motion of your wrist. No battery, no charger. It hand-winds from the screw-down crown when it's been sitting, has hacking seconds so you can set the time to the second, and holds a power reserve of about 41 hours — enough to keep running overnight and through a lazy day off the wrist. The 4R35 is the date-only sibling of Seiko's famously robust 4R36, part of a movement family with a long service record and parts available at any competent watchmaker worldwide. It's a workhorse, which is the point: this is a watch built to be worn in salt water, not babied.
