The Citizen Promaster Sky Navihawk CA4667-53L is a men's Eco-Drive pilot chronograph built around the instrument-panel language of the cockpit — and, at 40mm, sized for a wrist rather than a flight deck. The stainless steel case is topped by a blue-plated rotating bezel carrying a full pilot's slide rule and tachymeter scale, wrapping the dial in the kind of dense, functional detail that made the Navihawk a Citizen signature. What does the slide rule bezel on the Citizen Navihawk actually do?
The rotating bezel on the CA4667-53L is a circular slide rule — the same calculation tool pilots have used for decades to work out fuel burn, airspeed, ground distance and unit conversions without a calculator. In practice most owners use it for everyday sums: converting kilometres to nautical miles, litres to gallons, or currency and tip calculations. It's genuinely functional rather than decorative, and Citizen includes instructions with the watch.
Does an Eco-Drive watch ever need a battery?
No. Eco-Drive converts any light source into energy and stores it in a rechargeable cell inside the watch, so there is no battery to replace over the life of the movement. Once fully charged this calibre will run for around nine months in complete darkness, and a low-charge indicator warns you long before it stops. Leaving it near a window or wearing it in normal daylight is enough to keep it permanently topped up.
Can I swim or dive with the Promaster Sky Navihawk?
It's rated to 200 metres (20 bar), which comfortably covers swimming, snorkelling and recreational water sports. As with any chronograph, don't operate the pushers or the crown while the watch is submerged, and have the gaskets checked periodically if you swim in it regularly. It isn't an ISO-rated dive watch, so for scuba use we'd point you to the Promaster Diver range instead.
