Underneath the theme, this is Seiko's King Turtle — the upgraded version of one of the most respected dive watch designs Seiko makes, with a sapphire crystal, scratchproof ceramic bezel and a genuine 200m ISO diver's rating, so it's built for actual diving, not just looking the part. The Jaws elements are handled with more restraint than you'd expect: the embossed shark on the gradient dial only reveals itself at certain angles, and the best detail — an engraving of Quint's boat, the Orca, with a dorsal fin cutting the water — is hidden on the caseback. At 45mm across but a wearable 47.7mm lug-to-lug (the Turtle's cushion case wears smaller than the number suggests), it works as an everyday diver that happens to have a great story, rather than a collectible you're afraid to wear.
How many were made, and is each watch numbered?
5,000 pieces worldwide, and yes — every watch carries its own serial number engraved on the screw-down caseback, alongside the Orca and shark fin artwork. Once they're gone, that's it; this is a one-time production run for the film's 50th anniversary in 2025, not a recurring model. It was also only released in four markets — Japan, the United States, Australia and Taiwan — so Australia got one of the few official allocations in the world.
