With a firm commitment to Sustainable manufacturing, the Alpina Seastrong CALANDA AL-525BBG4VR6 case is made with Recycled Stainless steel as a 2 part case with a 60 minute unidirectional bezel with luminous markers. The Black & Grey recycled PET strap finish off this timepiece perfectly.

 Made from Thyssen Krupp’s ultra-high-grade recycled puresteel, which is certified 100% recycled, the stainless steel used in this model boasts one of the highest levels of quality available on the market and is primarily sourced from the maritime shipping industry. The raw material collection is manufactured in controlled conditions with respect to traceability in the use of alloy elements sourced in non-conflict zones and use of CO2 neutral ovens marking of the puresteel recycled stainless-steel with a digital fingerprint.

A single name, A single number: Calanda, 1. ‘Calanda’ after the eponymous cargo ship built in 1913, which flew under Switzerland’s flag from 9 April 1941. ‘1’ in a nod to the Calanda having been the very first ship to be recorded on the Swiss boat register, assigned Basel as its home and registration port. This was a powerful symbol for a neutral country, which had decided to equip itself with a fleet to ensure supplies could reach it by sea in light of the German and Italian troops encroaching on Greece. After many services given, the ship finally retired and was dismantled in Hong Kong in 1953.

The Alpina AL-525BBG4VR6 features a 42m dial with a thickness of 12.66mm. The glass is scratch resistant convex Sapphire Crystal. The case back is engraved Recycled Stainess steel and the crown is a screw lock type. The matte black dial features beige seconds markers with the hands being hand polished silver tone stainless steel with matching luminous treatment.

  If no one is available to sign, Australia Post will leave a card with details on how to collect your parcel from the closest authorised Australia Post Office.
