The Alpina Diver Extreme Automatic x Route du Rhum, reference AL-525T3VE6, is a limited-edition Swiss automatic dive watch made to mark the 13th edition of the Route du Rhum. The race is a legendary solo transatlantic crossing from Saint-Malo to Guadeloupe. The turquoise dial is textured and engraved with a pattern tracing the Atlantic Ocean’s currents, and a red “13” in the date window at 6 o’clock marks the edition.

Around it sits a bidirectional carbon-fibre bezel marked with the cardinal points and a 360° compass scale, a navigator’s tool rather than a standard dive timer. The brushed and polished stainless steel case measures 39 x 40.5mm and 13.4mm thick, with a screw-down crown wrapped in textured turquoise rubber. Grade X1 luminous hands and markers stay legible in the dark, and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal sits on top.

Turn the watch over and the caseback is engraved with the race’s official route from Saint-Malo to the Caribbean. Inside, Alpina’s AL-525 Swiss automatic movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a 38-hour power reserve and a date function. Water resistance is a serious 300 metres, so this is a working dive watch as well as a commemorative piece. A two-tone textured rubber strap, black down the centre with turquoise edges, fastens with a stainless steel pin buckle and is made for salt water.

  If no one is available to sign, Australia Post will leave a card with details on how to collect your parcel from the closest authorised Australia Post Office. You’ll need to present a photo ID at the post office to pick it up. If you’ve authorised a Safe Drop with Australia Post previously, they’ll follow your existing instructions.
