Squale introduces the new Master model for the divers of Comsubin, a department of the Italian Navy that specialises in underwater operations. The collaboration with the Italian Navy began in the 80s, when Squale won two contracts to supply watches to Comsubin, an elite department based on the Ligurian coast.

After the introduction of the Master Marina Militare in 2022, Squale is unveiling the Master x Palombari del Comsubin, a watch equipped with technical characteristics that guarantee excellent performance even in extreme conditions, such as at extreme depths. This is the first Squale timepiece made entirely of grade-5 titanium and produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces, a portion of which (the first 80) was reserved for the Comsubin divers while the remaining watches are available for sale at select locations globally. 

As expected from the ultimate underwater tool watch, this is an exceptional timepiece featuring technical characteristics that guarantee excellent performance even in extreme conditions, having been designed in collaboration with professional divers.

This is the very first Squale watch made entirely of Grade 5 titanium, featuring a helium escape valve with an incredible water resistance of 1200 metres (120 ATM).

Every detail of the watch has been designed in close collaboration with this elite Italian military unit, whose logo features at six o’clock on the deep blue dial and ceramic bezel. This stunning colourway, emblematic of Squale, also reflects the tones of the Palombari del Comsubin’s uniform, which is designed to blend in with the sea. These colours are also echoed in the additional operational camouflage-coated Comsubin strap that is supplied with the watch, which comes on a durable black rubber tropic strap as standard: ready for underwater work. This is truly a diver’s watch created by divers for divers.

Not only is the Palombari del Comsubin a crack squad of divers certified for underwater operations to a depth of 300 metres, but they are also licensed parachutists, with airdrop and heli-airdrop capabilities to rescue submarines damaged at sea. These extreme demands formed the basis of the brief for an incredibly high performance dive watch.

The MASTERGOS is an automatic movement watch with a 1200m water resistance rating. This Dive watch features a classic blue Sunray dial and bezel with highly luminous Superluminova BGW9 treatment on the hands and the markers along with a Grade 5 Titanium case with a Made in Italy Rubber Tropic Strap and a matching blue camo rubber strap. This model uses domed Sapphire Crystal with anti-reflective treatment. The 120-click bezel insert is unidirectional with a brushed ceramic insert.

The case size of the Squale MASTERGOS is 42mm with a thickness of 16mm, lug-to-lug of 49mm and a lug width of 20mm. The case back is in a Brushed finish. The lockdown screw in crown is at the 4'o clock marker and the case back is screw in. The Unidirectional stainless steel bezel matches the blue of the dial.

The Squale MASTERGOS uses the Sellita SW200-1 ELABORÉ mechanical automatic movement with a frequency of 28800 a/h (4Hz) and uses 26 jewels. The movement has a power reserve of 38 hours.
