Seiko Presage SRPJ17J Cocktail Time 'The Irish Coffee' is a mechanical automatic movement watch and is Made in Japan.

This timepiece is from the Presage Cocktail Time collection, watches inspired by the Japanese cocktail culture in Tokyo’s sophisticated Ginza area, each named after a specific cocktail. This particular design is named after ‘The irish Coffee’ cocktail – taking its hues from the the milky coffee tones from Irish Cream.

In Japan, traditionally ‘Nomunication hour’ – a hybrid of nomu (drink) and communication – is after 5pm, when it’s cocktail hour and time to talk things over. The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time collection was inspired by this Japanese tradition of finishing the working day off with a cocktail and a chat – with each timepiece named after drinks mixed by Hisashi Kishi, head bartender and owner of Star Bar in Tokyo’s Ginza area and a past winner of the International Bar Association World Championships.

The SRPJ17 features the Seiko calibre 4R35 that is both manual as well as a self winding automatic movement with a normal operating accuracy tolerance of +45 / -35 seconds per day and a power reserve of 41 hours. The watch has a 39.5mm stainless steel case with thickness of 11.8mm, a stitched brown leather strap with Rose Gold tone steel hands and indexes and box shape hardlex glass. Water resistance rating is 50m and additional features include a screw case back, exhibition case back and a date display.

What we love: The overall look of the watch is similar to looking down in a nice dark cocktail with the circular dial, well after a few Gins anyway.
