A new hand wound calibre, the new release calibre 473 marks the tenth in-house movement in 10 years oy Oris. Calibre 473 has a five-day power reserve with an indicator on the reverse, it’s highly anti-magnetic, and it comes with a 10-year warranty and 10-year recommended service intervals.

Finished in a multi-piece stainless steel case and a brown leather strap with a stainless steel clasp. Oris has developed a sophisticated stainless steel butterfly folding clasp with a fine adjustment system. It allows you to adjust the strap as your wrist expands and contracts, which happens as environmental conditions change. This Cal 473 series Big Crown Pointer features a 38mm case and a stainless steel screw-lock security crown. The Sapphire crystal glass is domed on both sides and has anti-reflective coating on the inside. Water resistance rating is 50m.

Introduced in 1938, the Big Crown Pointer Date has been in constant production for more than 80 years. The original had two distinctive features – an oversized crown so the watch could be operated by gloved airmen, and a central hand that pointed to a date scale around the edge of the dial. The form has become Oris’s signature design, a Swiss watchmaking icon, and a byword for beautiful, functional, timeless watchmaking.
